Winter Haven, Fla. To welcome residents, there was a ribbon-cutting event on December 18th. The event featured speeches from the company’s executive team and community leaders, live music from local radio station, 97.5 WPCV-FM, and a donation to Life Choice Pregnancy Center to offer support to the local community.
The Winter Haven North location includes 12,000 square feet of retail space and employs nine associates. The new store is owned by Chuck Young, one of Badcock’s most prolific dealers. Young began his career with Badcock over 50 years ago, working in his brother-in-law’s store in Saint Augustine, Florida. In 1969, he went to work for the Corporate office in Mulberry where he served for five years before opening his first store, in Eagle Lake, which is still in operation today. Throughout the years, Chuck and his wife Nancy have opened or acquired numerous locations throughout Florida and Southwest Georgia, including the Saint Augustine store where he got his start.
In addition to being a long-time dealer, Chuck and his family are also ardent promoters of Badcock and all that it stands for. He’s recruited friends and family alike into store ownership. As dealers with their own stores, four of his nephews, along with his wife Nancy, son Chance, son-in-law Jason, and daughter Courtney who are all now part of the Young-Pate family’s Badcock legacy. Of his newest addition, Young says, "We are excited to serve the Winter Haven community as we have for the last 45 years. This store has our roots at its core, and we are humbled to have the opportunity to serve our community, old and new customers alike, where we live, work, and are proud to call home."
“Chuck is one of our most successful dealers, a true champion of the Badcock brand and family atmosphere that we’re known for. I know he will provide excellent service in this new market,” says Badcock CEO and President, Rob Burnette.
