Recently, Hurricane Ian ravaged southwest Florida. Many lost everything. While we share in that loss from a perspective of physical store locations and property, our focus will always be the PEOPLE that call that area home – our customers, our friends, our neighbors, our family members, our employees, and our store owners. In times of crisis or natural disaster, we feel the instinctive pull to do something… to rally.
Almost immediately after Hurricane Ian cleared, our store owners in that region jumped into action – without hesitation – to take care of those around them. Teams from our Arcadia, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Naples, Cape Coral, and Port Charlotte stores began transporting supplies via airboat because traditional road transportation was limited at best. Water, non-perishable food, fuel, and generators were moved back and forth across Peace River to ensure people got what they needed when they needed it most.
In between supply runs, the Badcock team jumped on rooftops to help install tarps. They pitched in to help move debris. They partnered with local non-profits to amplify the impact of clean-up efforts around the various communities. They did what every member of our Badcock family does best… S E R V E.
And serving is what we will continue to do! Our Badcock family will serve in the recovery efforts. We will serve in the rebuilding process. We will serve in the season of restoration.
In addition to the hurricane relief efforts, we’ve made it a priority to get our stores open and running again in order to provide the furniture, appliances, and more that will help get this area back on its feet.
May we never forget the importance of community (family). It is everything — powerful, resourceful, caring, resilient, inspiring. We are community!
